The Session:
I went to my local rock mark to catch some pollock and I also considered trying LRF tactics but didn't bother trying LRF once I arrived due to the sea being a bit too rough and I thought it was inevitable I'd get snagged a lot.
I set up the float rod, had the depth set at around 10 feet deep and began casting it beyond the kelp that was visible in front of me. Once I had the first fish the next hour and three quarters produced a few fish with bites coming steadily over that time. But the bites stopped completely by 7pm and I fished on until the sea began rolling up the rocks,e arlier than I expected, given that high tide was not until 10pm.
I got the species I expected to catch though and so it was a successful session, but doing things like changing depth and having an occasional cast at a distance didn't even tempt a bite after 7pm.
