The Session: When I arrived there was a pod of dolphins surfacing a few hundred yards out and I caught glimpses of them closer in over the session. The tow was still too strong for float fishing since the turn of the tide so I began with the feathers. I just kept casting stright out about 60 - 70 yards and doing sink and draw. One retreive produced a single mackerel which took quite close in. I switched to float sometime after using a piece of squid at around 6ft deep, but the tow was still too strong and I had to cast every 30 seconds or so. I noticed a seagull had become hooked on a snagged rig and managed to climb to the rock edge, pull the seagull up and free it then gather up the whole rig, including about 30 meters of line. I switched back to the feathers and at around 20:45 I had another single mackerel. Then at around 21:20, just as I commented to another angler that I had not caught a mackerel in light this low before I had a final take, and this time all four flashers had a mackerel on the end. After another 5 minutes I gave the float another go, but had no bites in 15 minutes so I packed up
