Sea: Very clear at the surface. slightly choppy, increasing to a swell of up to 4ft well before dark

The Session: My intention was go give mackerel feathering a good go to begin stocking the freezer with bait and food. Nothing really happened for the first two hours of the session. After having dozens of casts of the mackerel feathers I tried float fishing for pollock, missed a couple of bites and then concentrated on feathering again. A few more casts and the first mackerel took them. They continued to come in twos or threes over the session, with a couple bumping the hook. A ship approached and anchored off to my right for a few hours, which was tha same ship a friend and I saw earlier in the week leaving the Torridge. I grabbed some more photographs of it. I packed up quite happy that I had caught as many as other anglers.
