Time fished to: 22:20
Weather: It was quite windy with an increasing number of strong gusts over the night.
Sea: The sea was calm at the edge of the pier but with an increase in the swell over the session. Across the harbour the waves were hitting the rocks quite hard.
Method: Running Ledger (rotten bottom)
Bait: Frozen mackerel segments, live lugworm
Caught (weight): 1 Tub Gurnard (1lbs 0oz, Guessed), 1 Cod (0lbs 8oz, Guessed)
The Session: I set up two rods and baited them both with a segment of frozen mackerel, pushing the hook through where the guts were and then putting the point of the hook through the dark skin on the other side before wrapping with elastic and leaving the hook point exposed. Throughout the session I varied the distance of each cast between around 20 yards and 70 yards. I only had a few bites but managed to hook two fish.
