Sea: Almost flat, fairly murky, varying tow in both directions.
Method: Ledger - pulley rig with rotten bottom / Float
Bait: Frozen mackerel segments, frozen black lugworm, frozen dirty squid / frozen mackerel strips

The Session: I set up both ledger rods with homemade pulley rigs and put mackerel segments on both, then cast them around 60 yards straight out. After an hour or so I changed one rods bait to lugworm. The first two hours were unproductive, with me only getting attanetion from crabs on the mackerel. I set up a float rod and fished it with mackerel strips around 10ft deep for half hour but that produced nothing. I then changed the bait on one rod to some old dirty squid, which I had refrozen numerous times. It wasn't long before this rod produced the first dogfish. I stuck with the squid and after missing a bite on the rod with mackerel as bite I saw the other rod sharply bending over. This dogfish had clearly hooked itself. After putting this one back the tow became stronger and for a while my gripper leads didn't hold bottom. I began packing up at around 15:45 with the rod with squid bait producing a good bite just as I was going to reel it in, but I missed it.
