Caught (weight): Nothing

The Session: Two of us fished here. It was my first time fishing this mark but I had visited the area a lot and so I had a good idea about it.

We arrived and got set up around 2 hours before low tide. Other anglers were already here. We both used just one rod and began with crab baits. I cast mine around 70 yards straight out and left the first bait out for about 30 minutes. When I went to reel in the hook was bare and so I cast more often afterwards. It didn''t help though as it became clear there were spider crabs around. I ended up losing one weight and snapping two hooks as I pulled out of snags and as it got colder and other anglers left due to the poor fishing, Robert tried mackerel for a bit and about an hour after low tide and Robert catching two spider crabs we too decided to pack up.

Although we didn''t catch anything it was nice being out on the rocks and we had a little taster session so we will probably be able to go back and know where to watch for the tide coming back in, via the gulleys.
